39th Annual First Capitol Day Banquet Sponsored by the St. Charles County Democratic Central Committee “Democrats are Doing Great Things!” featuring guest speaker

The Honorable Judge Ted House Friday, August 20th @ 6 pm New Location: Christy Banquet Center 9000 Veterans Memorial Parkway O’Fallon, MO 63366

To Promote Responsible Gathering during the Covid-19 Pandemic:

• Disposable masks and hand sanitizer will be readily available.

• Banquet seating will provide additional space.

• Per CDC guidelines, participants should maintain social distance when possible, and should be masked while socializing, when standing in the buffet line, and when not eating/drinking.

Let’s all set a proud Democratic example of responsible behavior.

The Christy Banquet Center follows guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization, including increased certified sanitizing, and increased frequency of hand sanitizing stations. Buffets and food stations are equipped with acrylic barriers between servers and guests. All food items are served by trained staff to the guests as they come through the line, which is monitored to ensure fewer crowds.

As of July 27, the CDC has updated Covid-19 recommendations, regardless of vaccination status: To maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.

The St. Louis city and St. Louis Co indoor masking mandates – regardless of vaccination status – is currently in effect, despite ongoing efforts to overturn it.

What you can do for Missourians this week:

Wednesday Aug. 4th, Minority Floor Leader Crystal Quade was on Maddow show with guest host Ali Velshi to discuss Governor Parson's abuse of the justice system. The Governor's refusal to pardon wrongfully convicted Missourians like Kevin Strickland and Lamar Johnson while prioritizing pardoning GOP US Senate candidate Mark McCloskey is a disgusting, horrific, injustice. Our justice system shouldn't be abused to score political points. If you want to help Kevin Strickland you can donate to his gofundme here.

Continue talking to your vaccine hesitant friends and family about the vaccine. Don’t pressure, don’t shame, just begin the dialogue about vaccines and offer them support and resources. If anyone has questions about the vaccine they can call 877-435-8411, or Click Here to Get the Facts. Remind them, they are loved, their life matters, and their health matters. #GetVaxxed

Sign this petition and call Governor Parson at 573-751-3222 and use the script below to tell Governor Parson to keep his hands out of Missourians' pockets:

"Governor Parson, you have the power and authority to authorize the complete forgiveness of unemployment overpayments made in error to hardworking Missourians. You must recognize the harm that forcing repayment can and will cause for Missouri families, and immediately ensure the Department of Labor stops collections on both the federal and state portions of unemployment overpayments."

Equity Education Partnership

Missouri Equity Education Partnership is a grassroots organization founded in 2021 to promote anti-racist and anti-bias approaches to education. We believe that:

· Diversity and equity education belongs in our schools as much as math, science, and language arts.

· Our students need equity education to engage in a diverse world.

· Equity education empowers teachers and students to learn accurate history as well as gain skills needed to engage with people who come from different experiences and backgrounds.

· Education is about preparing children for the rest of their lives, and equity education gives them essential skills.
